Dont know why this just popped up right now since this was taken in 2006 - during the Israeli invasion. I supported Lebanon then but seeing as its 2011 and they are no longer being bombed to hell - I thought I'd a little more than just support.
yeah designed long time ago, in 2006 during the war.. we got some rockets from lebanon though .. i mean by i support lebanon, is i support the beautiful side of it, because lebanon is the "mother" of arts musc and education in middle east,
I don't know about 'mother' of all arts, since most of the best writers, poets, musicians, actors and so forth are either Egyptians, Syrians or Palestinians. As for Education - that too is debatable since Egypt and Syria also have been known for their Education ( Egypt invented the first library, science, medicine, and mathematics, navigation etc.) So not to take any spot light form anywhere just trying to put a few things into context. Is Lebanon a creative spot on the map? Absolutely, the mother? No, since art has no birth place and should never be given a focus for an absolute result. This is not to say Lebanon has no art - that's not true in the slightest. But it's wrong to say it's mother to anything other than the mother of the Lebanese. What Lebanon contributes to the region is just that - a contribution. There is no mother or father or need for entitlements.
let's say, that , this design was made during the war, affected by the war, and it's for all those who were victims of the war.. i was kind of kid then, i did not much history about Lebanon and how it's complicated place, i did not know enough about the problems between Palestinians and Lebanese .. i do really respect what you are saying and i can not comment on it.. because i do not have such an experience in that country ..
thanks you for making the effort to comment , i really appreciate it ..
I respect your country beyond any other for what it had to endure during the civil war and invasion. I only wish those moments in history were not forgotten as they seem to have been. I too lobbied hard for Lebanon in 2006; and was outraged - but it is now 2011 and Arabs are in revolution. What Lebanon does from now until the end will determine whether or not it has learned from all it's bloody past - or adamant upon repeating the same mistakes again.
